Summer rolls are one of the most popular street foods in Vietnam, since they're so quick and easy to eat if you're on-the-go. Although they originated in the south, they are now much-loved in every part of Vietnam. Soft rice paper is filled with prawns or pork, and thin rice noodles to give it some body and texture.

The local specialty in Hue is Banh Beo,
which is essentially a steamed rice cake made from rice flour and tapioca, and
filled with crispy prawns and delicious dipping sauce on the side. There are
many different variations of this dish, so we recommend ordering a few of them
so you can get a taste of everything on the menu!

These are freshwater mussels which are cooked with a variety of Hoi An's local herbs. Although this is known as a seasonal treat, it's a favourite amongst locals as a light snack during the mid-afternoon.

Summer is coming to Asia. This means heat,
humidity and rain. The change in season will also bring a slight change to what
people are eating. Although hot and spicy food is notoriously linked to hot
climate countries, like most of Asia, you will find that people will still eat
these types of dishes even in the middle of summer.
Curry is a common style of dish that is made and eaten across many Asian countries. There is a large spectrum of different types and ingredients added to a curry dish. Many countries have created versions of a curry where the flavours have been 'cooled down' to produce a refreshing and tasty dish that can be enjoyed in summer. Here are our top 5 curries that should keep you nice and cool in summer.
1. Malaysian Chicken Curry Laksa

This milky chicken and noodle laksa is quick and delicious. It's pact full of fresh ingredients like bean sprouts, spring onions, coriander and fried shallots. The curry offers a soup-like consistency and is the perfect comfort food to slurp up in summer.
2. Lauki Aloo Sabzi (Potato Vegetable Curry)

Lauki Aloo Sabzi is an Indian one pot dish
that can be made in a pressure cooker. The potato vegetable curry is lightly
spiced but very filling. The curry can be served with fluffy white rice or
accompanied with a meat dish.
3. Massaman Beef Curry

This rich and fragrant, but
relatively mild Thai curry combines coconut cream and coconut milk with
potatoes, tender beef chunks and onions. The dish also includes a creamy peanut
or cashew sauce that is best accompanied with a bowl of coconut rice to soak up
all the flavour.
4. Japanese Curry

Japanese curry is a very
popular dish in Japan and very different from Indian curries. It's generally
thicker and sweeter than other curries you would normally find throughout Asia,
but it's just as delicious. The curry acts more like a gravy that generously
covers crumbed chicken and rice.
5. Creamy Indonesian Curry with Fish

This Indonesian curry combines
creamy coconut and tangy lemongrass with tender fish to create a vibrant,
yellow curry sauce. Using fish as the protein makes the curry light and adds a
natural saltiness to the dish.
